Crooked Tree Wetlands Campaign: Crooked Tree Wetlands supports us; as we develop, let's keep it intact!
"Crooked Tree Wetlands ga wi bak, as wi develop mek wi kip it laik dat!"
Belize Audubon Society, in partnership with National Audubon Society and Rare pride (two international non government organizations), is implementing a social marketing conservation campaign in the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary and the surrounding communities of Biscayne, Crooked Tree and Lemonal Village.
The goal of the campaign is two fold, it will first aim to decrease the threat of unsustainable development activities within the wetlands of CTWS by increasing awareness of the importance of wetlands and strengthening political and community relationships. It will also seek to establish a practical and adoptable set of cattle farming guidelines that will mitigate current impacts to the wetlands and guide future cattle farming developments near the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sancutary.
